Windows Phone, -Out The Door!

Windows Phone, -Out The Door!

Microsoft IS discontinuing support for Windows Phone devices (Windows phone 8.1), it’s true. It was built around the Windows 8.1 platform, which was never popular to start with. (MS has a habit of only releasing a good operating system, every “other” build release, and the other half are crap anyway) There are actually a number of MS products being terminated this year, you may be interested in the list. If you can’t see the picture, you can follow the link to the MS page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4001737/products-reaching-end-of-support-for-2017  I have highlighted some of the most relevant ones for you:

Everything I.T. Now Has A HELP Forum!

I get calls all the time from people who have simple questions…How do I do something on Facebook? How do I do something online? What would be the best or cheapest solution to my problem? Etc, etc. Everything I.T. is a business that cares about people. We are a business, yes, but there are many things you just shouldn’t have to pay for, …and general assistance is one of them. We aren’t going to take your money if we can help you save it. There are too many people trying to take every darn penny you earn for stuff that we, as human beings, should do for each other. I see so many places “charging” to support their own customers…people who have already purchased their products, and I for one, find it distasteful and appalling! So Everything I.T. now has a help forum. If you want to ask a question, please ask it there, so that others can benefit as well from your question and the answer that goes with it. (Didn’t they tell you all through school that there is NO SUCH THING as a stupid question?) …It’s true. When you ask a question, you actually help others as well who may not have the words to ask, or who may be too embarrassed. It’s a simple sign-up, and it’s encrypted so your email doesn’t get hacked. (in fact our entire site is encrypted!) So just go to the help forum, and post your question, and we will try to answer it as soon as possible. And if you read something I answer, and have a better answer, you can sign up to respond as well. so don’t be shy because you are the first one to post. I imagine on every forum that started, someone went first at some point. 🙂

You there is 1 topic started, only to make it easy for someone not so technical I guess…all you have to do is hit reply. But you are most welcome to start your own topic if you want. Anything not X-rated (this is an under-13 approved site) or illegal is welcome.

New Law allows your ISP to collect and SELL ‘ALL’ Your Data!

Trump just signed a new law that repeals the old one that was supposed to put privacy restrictions on your data, and can now collect ALL your browsing history, and sell it to the highest bidder. This is a terrible move on Trump’s part. Looks like he may not be a politician, but he is still in the pockets of big business. India Demonetizes its Currency (some bills)

Quite often, the articles and/or information that I find so very interesting that they are worth re-posting, are often not related to information technology, and for that, I apologize. But I really could not pass this up. The whole situation sounds pretty serious to me, for an entire country to demonetize part of its cash currency to fight counterfeiting and terrorism. But that’s exactly what India did. Not all of its currency, mind you, but the most common bills I suppose. It would be equivalent of USA saying “as of midnight tonight, no $20’s, $50’s, or $100’s bills will be any more be considered legal tender for stores, bill payment, or anything that requires payment that you wish to render payment for in cash”; And that would have serious economic consequences for the country. But think; If they did it in one country, what is to stop them from trying it here if it’s successful? It’s scary to think about. If you want to read the article (which is very good, and worth reading) read it here: https://www.indipulse.com/demonetization-in-india-a-perfect-case-of-solution-worse-than-the-problem/

First Post of Everything I.T.’s new site

Well, there were no posts on the blog page, so I figured we needed to create the first post. Welcome to The new site. The old site has been up since around 2006 or so, and it was time to upgrade. Seriously time. There is not a lot to read yet, as the new site is just getting started, and the old site didn’t have a blog. But we have been on Facebook for quite some time. So if you are new and just trying to figure who we are, I recommend you go there and take a look. There are many good posts and information there. There will be here also, eventually.

Everything I.T. does a little bit of everything. Our favorite pass-time is creating new and wonderful websites for your (or my) businesses. In the spare time when we aren’t developing, creating, or coding, we are fixing or building machines, doing some tutoring or training, or posting and doing other fun things on the accounts of our clients who have hired us to just manage things for them. There is always something keeping us (me) busy.

So again, WELCOME! Look around, give us a call, or open a chat, bookmark us for later, or whatever floats your boat. 🙂

Until I hear from you,
-D
